Switch from 10 year to 5 year route

Post by Gurpritgulati1 » Sun Dec 03, 2017 11:50 am

Hi
I wanted to ask I came to uk on student visa in 2012 and up until 2015 I got married then I applied spouse visa which I got it for 2.5 year but when I applied for extension which is just a month they put me on 10 year route as I was on 5 year route and the reason was that I did not meet the requirement on 5 year route which I did but I could not do anything but I wanted to ask I was been following this for long time now I wanted to know which option be better to switch back to the 5 year route in future for example after I’m due for the extension on my 10 year route which will be in 2020 or shall I wait and keep applying in 10 year route as I will be getting 2.5 visa on this route until 2023 as I have checked that I will be eligible on the 10 year long residence ILR please kindly help
