On 1st November 2017, I bumped into the car in front of me on a motorway. It is just the cars that got damaged a bit, no persons were harmed and no police involved in this incident. I got full driving License and comprehensive insurance cover. The Third party claimed on my insurance as it is termed to be my fault. My insurance company payed out the Third party car repair costs but are still in a process of dealing with the personal injury costs as the third party claimed he got a neck pain (Whiplash) after the incident. Third party is due to submit a medical proof and then my insurance company will analyse the medical bill and will have their say about how much they can pay. This is on going at the moment.
The Third party sent a claim form to my insurance company and I got a copy of it. In this claim letter, there is a line that says "Was this incident reported to the police" and the answer says "Yes".
I am a Tier 2 (General) migrant and am eligible to apply for my ILR in the next month (5th Jan 2018). I am in a big dilemma, if this incident is going to effect my ILR application. So my questions are:
1. Is this incident going to effect my ILR application, If Yes, how worse is it going to be?
2. If no, Should I mention this in my ILR application?
3. The third party claim letter says, this incident is reported to police. So will this appear as a police case filed on me. Is this going to appear in the CRB (DBS) checks?
4. What steps should I take to make sure I get my ILR smoothly?
Please help me with the expert/experienced answers.
