National Insurаnce Number interview

Post by ivedimit » Tue Dec 05, 2017 8:49 pm

Hello, I have an EU passport , I am coming to the UK for 1 week only and I would like to appoint a National Insurance Number interview while in the UK in order to start working there the next year.
How can I make sure that the interview date is in the period when I am in the UK?
Can I appoint the interview on a certain date that suits me?
If not, I would like to know the usual waiting time from the call to the interview date, so I can call to appoint for an interview certain time before my arrival.
Thanks for Your answers!

National Insurance number interview
Jobcentre Plus may write to you and ask you to come to an interview where you’ll be asked about your circumstances and why you need a National Insurance number.

The letter will also tell you which documents to bring to prove your identity, such as:

passport or identity card
residence permit
birth or adoption certificate
marriage or civil partnership certificate
driving licence

AND
To obtain a NINO you must be 16 or over and resident in Great Britain or Northern Ireland

You aren't able to apply for a NI if you are in the UK as a visitor.
