Can I work for my Sponsor on a additional temporary "casual work contract" job?

I am on a Tier 2 visa with my current sponsor. It's a university where I am doing Post-doc. Well at the same university an opportunity has arisen to cover for someone in IT for 2 weeks.

Am I allowed to take that job if its from the same sponsor and in a very temporary capacity.

This is just a shot in the dark and I just thought I should confirm here before rejecting the offer.
