Hi
Here is my situation. I got British passport and my wife on ILR in 2012.
I have two children born in UK and already getting child benefit and child tax credit since beginning.
Third child born abroad in 2014, my wife and kids were abroad as well. in 2015 my third child got British passport and came back to UK in 2016.
I have already two child on claiming benefits but third one can I claim know for child benefit & child tax credit.
I heard two children cap for benefits and cannot claim for third child.
If I applied will they ask why I am claiming after 3 years child born.

please advice.

You may be OK.
2 child limit: claiming benefits for more than 2 children wrote:You won’t be paid an additional amount for more than 2 children, unless the children are born before 6 April 2017 (on or before 6 April for Income Support) or special circumstances apply.
