Would and Iva affect my spouse visa application?

Post by mysterylady11 » Fri Dec 08, 2017 6:57 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm thinking of getting an Iva because of my debts, I was wondering if that would affect my spouse visa application in the future ?

Any advice would be a great help.

Thank you

How will you meet the minimum income level of £18,600 p.a :?:

Thanks for your reply...
I'm earning 19,000 a year with my current job.
But was thinking of getting an Iva...

So I was wondering if it will affect the visa when I'm ready to make the application?

Also if your partner is unemployed in their country would that affect them getting the visa?

Kind regards

Getting an IVA will NOT affect your spouse visa application as it is related to your personal finances. Your income is the only requirement as far as the spouse visa is concerned. You must meet the minimum threshold which you do at this present moment in time.

Your partners employment/income status is irrelevant as you (the sponsor) must be earning the minimum threshold amount to sponsor your spouse for the settlement visa. You meet this criteria as per your statement.

Thanks so much for your response, now I feel at ease. In the next 6 months I will apply for my husband.

Thanks again
