Indefinite Leave to Enter with Expiry date as the passport expired 5 yrs(Indian Passport)

Post by mickeyjoe75 » Mon Dec 11, 2017 8:59 pm

Hello there,
My son 7 years, has a similar situation, had and ILE which was stamped on the passport with the expiry date as the passport which was on 30/09/2015, if I renew the Indian passport can I just use the ILE from the old passport even though it has an expiry, Will there be any issue when boarding from India or on arrival here we are due to travel to India on 20/12/2017, do we need to transfer this or get a BRP card? Just querying as this was pointed out by the VFS lady as an issue when we applied for the renewal of Indian passport even though I thought it should not an issue? thanks,

Carrying both passports should be okay.
