Do i need Employer letter for naturalisation?

Post by tier1mig » Wed Dec 13, 2017 6:00 pm

Hi,

I have got ILR on 2Sep17, eligible for Naturalization as my wife was british citizen when i applied for FLR(M). I am applying for naturalization through partner route (Wife British Citizen), in guide document section 1. it states that

"
1.48 - 1.50 You must provide details of all your National Insurance contributions made for your current and previous employment during the past 10 years. To support this claim evidence can be in the form of payslips, P60s covering the relevant period, or a letter(s) from the employer(s) confirming you have worked for them, from the start and finish date.
If you do not pay income tax through PAYE you must demonstrate that you have discharged your obligations towards the H.M. Revenue & Customs, by attaching a Self Assessment Statement of Account.
"
My first permanent employment started on 11Jul11, since then I have taken both permanent and self-employment. I have following questions, appreciate if you help me answering this.

1. Do i need to submit P60s for all year? I have P60(Soft copy) for year 2012, 2014, 2015,2017 but have P45 for rest of period(Soft copy). Is that ok if i can submit soft copies of P60 & P45.
2. Do i need to get letter from employer for permanent employment and get accountant letter for self-employment.
3. Do I need to get report/statement for National insurance contribution from HMRC?

Appreciate your advice.

Thanks
Logesh

You do not need to provide employer letter for this application. However, you will need to give your employment history for last 10 years (or from whenever you started work ) & any self employment details. If you use NCS for your application, they will likely only take last year's p60 & last tax return (statement). You also do not need an accountant letter.

The NCS don't take P60s usually the vast majority they take because of the demands of the applicant, as the lady said at NCS "All the information is available to the Home office from the relevant departments". It's the paranoia of the applicant usually. We personally provided nothing
