joint citizenship and passport application - payment timeline?

Post by twgal » Fri Dec 22, 2017 10:22 am

Hi all,

I have an appointment to apply for citizenship and passports on the 3rd of January (I already paid the JCAP appointments), and I'd like to make sure I budget correctly, because it isn't exactly a low amount...

This is for one AN + one MN1 application.

citizenship £2255 (AN £1282 + MN1 £973)
biometrics £38 (2x biometrics)
passports £118.50 (adult £72.50 + child £46)

Is there anything else I am missing? Also, when do they take the payments for citizenship? How about the passport payment?

Thanks!

You are not paying for the biometrics at the NCS appointment. This is payable at the Post Office once you have your biometrics request letter. AN/MN fee is taken by UKVI, PP fee by HMPO, within two to four weeks of the application.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Thanks, so basically at the time of appointment nothing is really paid, but I need to ensure all funds are in my account after that.

But the passport fees are not taken until the citizenship application is approved, right? So those will take a while?

Hi there

You need to have the funds for the passport too. Mine came out about a week after the naturalisation fee was taken.

Thanks. I guess I can put the passport ones on a credit card and pay off when I get my January salary... I saved the funds for citizenship only. :)

thank you all.

I applied through NCS on 20th Sept, by 25th Sept the Home Office removed the fee and the passport removed the fee after I gave the Biometrics on the 4th of October, so just a few days after the NCS appointment.

Not when they approve the application but before that.
