Hello all
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
I am a UK citizen moving to the ROI in a week and my Canadian wife will be joining me in January. Currently i work for a UK based company who also have an Irish office. They are going to pay me out of the Irish office in Euros and i will be contracted to this office, not to the UK, but my role will still involve managing my team who are spread out across the UK, so the Irish office will charge back my wage to the UK office. I haven't seen the contract yet, but just in case its terms mention the UK too much to qualify for EU Treaty rights 'Employed' section, i'm looking at other options for the EU1 family application.
I'm not clear if the 'Self sufficiency' option would apply in this circumstance if my initial application is refused based on employment in Ireland due to the aforementioned ambiguous contract. Does regular income from a job outside Ireland that is effectively done remotely qualify as self sufficiency, assuming i provide them with the contract saying i am employed by the UK office and can work remotely and show them by bank account statements? Or does self sufficient income have to be a lump sum of money?
Kind regards and thanks in advance for any clarity you may be able to give.
Ian
