Hello,
I am applying for our baby's Naturalization by filling up MN1 Form under section 1(3) and as per the MN1 Form two references are required - one professional and other from a British citizen.
I have read the Citizenship FAQs topic here on the forum and likely read other members' posts and still looking for an answer as how the successful applicants managed to get two references because the GP practice and Health Visitor both has refused to provide the professional reference stating they are not obliged (fair point in their own right). Other options doesn't tick for us for example teacher because baby is one year old.
I phoned the Home Office and spoke to an advisor and explained the above (GP/Health Visitor didn't fill up the reference form) and was told that they are not obliged and we can't force and as per the MN1 Guidelines page 26 I can send the form with one reference and explain why only one reference in the additional information page but it will be Case Worker's discretion whether the application get approved or not. I don't mind doing as been told but don't want to go through the hassle if it gets rejected and also forfeiting our £973.00 fee.
Please can someone guide us what to do in this scenario as we appreciate that we are not only the ones who struggle to find a most suitable answer. Will appreciate if someone has gone through this recently and share their experience as how they managed to get two references OR submitted an application with only one reference/referee and have successfully received the Naturalization Certificate. Any expert advice is warmly welcomed.
Many thanks in advance.
