Application date for ILR UK

Dear Fellow Forum Members;

This is my first post on this forum as I am stuck in bit of a dilemma and would like to receive some valuable feedback as I believe this forum can help me with what I need as it has always done in the past.

I am currently on a Tier 2 work Permit in UK and approaching my 5 year term for ILR application. My question is basically about appropriate application date for ILR application.

My Tier 2 work permit approval date is 11 May 2013.

CoS work Start Date: 20 May 2013
Actual work Start date: 17 Jun 2013

Now the question is shall I consider my 5 years from 11/05/2013 or 17/06/2013.

Also, one thing to consider is after I got my initial work permit I went to India to get my family; so if I understand correctly the time between 11/05/2013 to 17/06/2013 will be counted as period outside the UK or off work.

Based on the above facts if I want to apply for ILR I can do this as early as 15/04/2017 (20 days for 11/05/2017). Will here be any issues if I apply on 15/04/2017.

If i want to be safe then I can apply on 18/06/2017.

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

For Tier 2 to ILR its the date on which your Tier 2 was issue. If its 11th May 2013 then you'd complete 5 years 11th May 2018 and should be able to apply within 28 days of this date.

That has nothing to do with your ILR eligibility. Though you'd need to provide the letter for your all the absences while you were on T2 from all the employers.

One more quick question, since my leave 11/05/2013 to 17/06/2013 was a personal leave and I will not receive any letter from my current employer supporting this, do you think I will am breaking continuous period?

Were you not paid during this time? Were you out of the country this time period?

Yes, I was out of the country and it was unpaid leave because it was before I joined my work which was on 17th June 2013.

it should not be issue, just have like boarding pass or airline ticket as proof.

Dear All,

Need another advice, please.

As I am now due for ILR, I am also considering to apply ILR for my family who will be finishing 5 years in June 2018.

In that regards, can someone please advise me on the application date for ILR for my dependents. Below is the timeline;

Visa start date - 29th May 2013
UK arrival date - 30th June 2018

So if I am right, I can make an application for them 28 days before 29th May 2018 (Visa start date) or do I have to apply on 30th June 2018 (UK arrival date) or 28 days before?

Congrats On your ILR that's a great news and big relief for sure. Can you please let me know when your last salary was increased as in how many months before ILR and whats the percentage?

My salary was always consistent in line with employers policy and in terms of merit increase it was in line with UK standards. It was always above the threshold.
