Naturalisation/Passport application- Caution

Post by Catiko1976 » Thu Jan 04, 2018 8:38 pm

Hello everyone,

I have been granted indefinite leave to remain, and I'm now considering applying for naturalisation and UK passport.

I have had a caution in 2010, and when requesting a copy of my police record I see they filed the caution under "Sexual activity in a public lavatory".
It was a late night drunken mistake, which I now regret...
For the record, this was my one and only caution.

Is anyone able to advise if this needs to be disclosed upon application and will it have an impact on getting naturalisation and UK passport?
I have read the several threads on here, but still quite confused as none of them applies to my case. Would appreciate some help

thanking you all in advance.

You will have to disclose cautions - UKVI does checks on every applicant, so not disclosing could be taken as deception. Refer to the good character section of the AN_Booklet (link below). There is also a link to case worker guidance which may be useful. Suggest you give further explanations/details on page 22 of the form. Nobody can say what the outcome might be, unless members here had a similar case.

This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Thank you so much. Will wait a while longer and see if anyone else offers some advice. In the meantime, I will read through the booklet. Thanks for the link for this.
