Old Passport Cancellation

Post by neilbradley » Sat Jan 06, 2018 2:11 pm

My wife applied for UK citizenship. She included her Guyanese passport with the application. She received a letter saying she was succesfull, and then attended a citizenship ceremony. However, she has NOT received back her old passport.

Now she is applying for a UK passport. The form asks if there were any previous passports. The answer is yes. But then it asks to include any uncancelled passports.

We do not know if the old passport was cancelled? Will it have been?

Should we have received it back? So that we can now include it in the passport application?

We cannot find any official information on this online. So very confused!

Regards

Neil.

If course, they should have returned her foreign passport. It was not theirs to keep.
Passports (handling): nationality procedure guidance wrote:Return of documents once a decision is made
All the documents submitted in support of the application must be returned immediately to the applicant once a decision has been made.
Ask for it back.
