Child Brithsh Passport Renewal

Dear Gurus,

My child British passport renewal is due in 8 months. He is in India studying there. He is 8 years old. May I know if it is better to bring him to UK for renewal or is it an easy process in India.

Please give me suggestions regarding this.

Renewal in India can take considerably more time than applying from within the UK. Also take into account any travel plans in the near future.
