Hello All,
Apologies if this has been covered but I've had a scour and can't see anything recent and/or comprehensive.
I applied for British citizenship via Document Checking Service on 9th of November 2017 and understand it's likely to take 3-5 months before I hear if I'm successful (based on current waiting times).
This means I am most likely to hear back in either February, March or April 2018. However I am due to attend three weddings in my home country: one in the middle of February, and two in the first two weeks of March. These are not weddings I can forego as they are for a close friend, a close family member and my partner's brother.
My question is what is the current (2017/18) sequence of events once I receive the letter saying I'm successful?
I.e.
-How soon after I get the letter do I have to book the ceremony?
-How soon after I get the letter do I have to attend the ceremony?
-Is it really correct that I only need to destroy and send back my BRP within 5 days of the citizenship ceremony? (I was sure I read that it was within 5 days of receiving the letter confirming successful application.)
Any answers will set my mind at ease from the worry that I'll have to fly back urgently, and miss one or all of the weddings.
Thanks very much in advance!
