Home office reference number for dependents

Post by grace17 » Sun Jan 07, 2018 4:38 pm

Hi all, I've recently booked my life in the UK test but am a bit confused about the home office reference number. The reference number on my letter from the home office starts with a letter, followed by seven numbers and then a "/2". I assume this is because I was young when we moved here and my mum would have done the indefinite leave applications and I would have been her dependent. However, on the online registration for the test the forward slash is not accepted. So I wonder, is my home office reference number the letter+seven numbers with or without the 2?

For example, let's say in my letter from the home office next to "Our Ref" it says "A1234567/2". The system doesn't accept the "/", should I put in "A1234567" or "A12345672"?

I hope this makes sense. Thank you very much in advance for any help.

If you are trying to register for LIUK test then I believe you need to put your BRP number there instead of any other ref. number. You will then need to take that BRP to the centre on exam day.
