Hi all,
My wife is South Korean. We met there about 6 years ago, and then tied the knot last year.
I moved back in November and started working in order to start building up the 6 months of financial evidence required for the spouse visa. However it's going to be at least another 7-8 months before she'll actually be able to join me, so we're looking at alternatives.
The one that works best for us is the youth mobility visa - it means she'll be able to come over and work, and then she could switch to a spouse visa at some point in the future.
The thing is, there is a section in the visa application that asks for details about marital status. If she includes the fact that she is married to a British citizen, does this affect her chances of having her visa application rejected? If so, how likely is it?
It's not worth going through the whole process if it's likely that she'll be rejected, but it's such a long time to wait otherwise.
Also, would her coming on something like a 6 month visitor visa or student visa have any effects on any future application for the spouse visa? Perhaps being seen as an attempt to subvert the standard visa application process, or something like that...
Anyway, any information at all would be massively appreciated!
