Which option is the best for Child Bristish Citizenship Application- by age or Child of Settled parent

Post by greatness » Mon Jan 08, 2018 1:02 pm

Hi,

* My child born in UK and of good character just qualify to apply for British citizenship based on 10 years residence in UK as a child.

*The father has recently just got ILR but the mother has overstayed as a result of refused joint family visa renewal in 2017.

Please can you advised which is the best Children British citizenship application option for our child - is it better to apply by her right as a 10years UK born or as a child of a settled Father with ILR.

Please explain the BENEFIT of each option, as we are about putting in the application and will like to go for the best option. Do you think NCS service is better or is there Online application for children citizenship too.

Secondly, what application will be best for the overstayed mother after the child British citizenship application has succeeded considering the fact that my spouse has also gotten ILR.
Looking forward to your prompt response and advise. many thanks

UK born child of a settled parent may be easier, as any absences will be irrelevant.

The applicant continues to keep original documents via NCS.

Overstayed spouse may apply as a partner or spouse using FLR(FP) 10-year route.

Many thanks for your prompt response, the child has full continuous residence in UK since birth and no travel history (no absence). We like to know the best option and heads-up towards the mother's FLR's application.

Will the Children Citizenship count towards mother's FLR Partner route. please explain why you mention 10 year route and not 5years. Also considering the fact that I had 9 years and 6 months lawful residence before last visa was refused.

Thank you all, appreciate your prompt response and past experience knowledge.

Overstaying longer than 14 days prevents an application under the 5-year route. Child's British citizenship would help.
