It’s because for some reason HO believes that you are not entitled to have PR so they gave you another 5 years, was there any letter from HO with the card?

I have sent my 10 year work History and ex wife 6 years including proof of residence I had another 2.5 year left on ROr. I haven’t received any letter from home Office apart from 1 letter which states I will get my Biometric card in 10 days.

My advice is that you should apply for a fast track subject access request from the Home Office in order to shed some light on why you were issued a residence card instead of a permanent residence document.

Once you have the information, then you can take the next steps.

Have you actually written to the Home Office to query their decision?

laready seen someone in here with the same outcome . just an hypothesis/guess from me , but may be true :
On the gov.uk it is saying something like : `do not apply for PR please as there will be another document soon confirming your rights `.
Could this problem be somehow connected with that ? Is there a possibility HO don`t want to give a PR cards to people because of Brexit ? as it will be easier for them for now to just issue another 5 years RC Visa so there is less mess for them later with changing EU PR`s for new UK documents which they are about to introduce ?
would be nice to hear Guru`s in there , for what smart people could say about this assumption ?

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
