Hi All,
So a quick background - I am a British citizen, my wife is Iranian and she is in the UK on spouse visa since 2014. Her mother visited the UK in 2016 and returned home after 3 months. She unfortunately passed away a few months ago. My wife understandably has been through a very difficult time since. Last month, her dad applied for a visitor visa to the UK (with me sponsoring his visit and declaring to pay all expenses in UK), as we thought it would be nice change for them both. He is retired but receives a good pension salary (equivalent to around £550, which is quite good in Iran), and also receives income from a rental property. He owns the title deed to a shop. The property he lives in (and also the rental apartment) was in his wife's name. But after her passing away, by law he inherits 25% share (with the remaining going to their children). Unfortunately his visa got refused, mainly due to the following reasons (please see the full refusal letter attached)
- ECO not satisfied with the circumstances he lives in Iran: We provided all the necessary bank statements and income details. He also provided the property details and the title deed the shop. So not sure what else we could add
- No other immediate family members in Iran: This is something we could not provide any documentation on, as his wife has passed away. If he is to reapply, the only thing I can think which could help is his elderly mother (my wife's grandmother), who lives in Iran and needs his support. Do you think this is likely to satisfy the ECO? and if so what kind if document would help? Also is it worth filing a complaint?
I would be grateful if you could please advise on anything that could be helpful in this case.
Many thanks
