Spouse visa applying for a bank account!

Post by wentots » Mon Jan 15, 2018 5:31 am

Hello sir / madam,

My wife spouse visa was approved pn 23/12/2017 and she will be arriving in the UK on this coming friday 19/01/2018.

We are thinking of getting her a bank account as she will be working at the same company as me.

The only proof of address that I have is the letter from the council stating that they are happy to add my wife as a house hold member. Would this be enough as proof?

Thank you

No. The bank will want to see proof of address in the form of a utility bill/council tax statement/NHS medical card etc. The bank may also accept a HMRC P2 'PAYE Coding Notice'.

Without any proof of address, your wife may be able to open a Basic Bank Account.
