Prove your knowledge of English for settling

Post by firminator » Mon Jan 15, 2018 4:09 pm

Hi,

I'm in the midst of applying for ILR, after holding a Tier 2 (General) Visa for the past 5 years.

I have concern if the english test report(IELTS General Training-Listening, reading, writing,speaking- all 7's) I hold taken in year 2012 is acceptable or not?

I would like to think it meets the HO requirements;
"If your qualification has run out- Some recognised test qualifications only last for 2 years. You can still use a B1 level qualification that you took more than 2 years ago in 2 situations."

a. it’s on the current list of recognised tests
My test centre number: MY001 (Table 3: Approved SELT test centres in Rest of the World (RoW))
My test was taken at British Council, Kuala Lumpur.
Is this considered as a SELT approved centre?

b. it was accepted for another UK immigration application, eg when you got permission to enter
I have been granted 3 years Visa Tier 2 (General) in Oct 2012 and 3 years extension in year 2015.
The english test was used to prove my english for the 1st Visa application in year 2012.

Can I know your view on this? There seems to be responses in other cases recommending taking the test eventhough it was used in previous visa application and even appears in the SELT list.

Brgds,
Firminator
