(CoA arrived, Biometrics letter for my wife arrived in November, had that done and sent off. Heard nothing until today.)stevesyjames wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 12:36 pmApplied for PR for myself (EU citizen living and exercising TR in UK since 2009) and my wife (married and living in UK since 2009, had 5-year RC issued in 2012) in October 2017. Online application, fee paid online, documents (P60s, letter from employer, recent bills, etc.) sent a few days later. CoA arrived, Biometrics letter for my wife arrived in November, had that done and sent off. Heard nothing until today.
One-page letter arrives addressed to my wife saying her application was rejected. Says reasons listed below, but only indication of why is 'You were asked to submit documents in support of your application within 10 days. We have no received this requested information within this timescale.' Nothing else in the letter stating what information is missing, and no documents or passport was sent back with it. I was never contacted to supplement documentation if something was missing.
1. Why was this rejected when my own application sent jointly has not had any response yet?
2. I sent along every document I could find relevant to our case, along with a cover letter, several days after making the online application via Guaranteed Delivery Royal Mail. Tracking shows it was received. They say to make another application, but how can I when they still have her US passport, my Greek ID card and all of our supporting documents?
3. Is it possible this has been sent in error? If so, what email address or phone number do I use to find out what in the world they are looking for?
Thanks in advance for any advice. Very frustrating, to say the least.
i would rather send a letter (printed/ keep a copy for your record). print the original email which is a correct email and did the biometircs and COA on same ID. print all out. put this rejection letter with it and ask them its a clerical error and the rejection letter is issued on totally wrong ID also tell them to respond u if thats a true case.stevesyjames wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 10:13 pmI applied on October 27, just several days before you. Looks like we're dealing with very similar situations. I'm going to try calling/emailing tomorrow, see if I can get any answers. At least you haven't received a rejection letter (yet)! If I find any answers I'll update here. I may also try contacting my local MP, I've had some help before as they have more avenues for contacting the Home Office than I do.
I am well amazed on their response. Normally no one even bother to reply you for weeks. but i am glad they accepted their mistake and at least u got a proof as an email as wellstevesyjames wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 9:24 amResolution!
After drafting a letter that I was preparing to post, as well as contacting my local MP's office, I received a response after emailing the Home Office complaints address. This was forwarded on to the Permanent Migration team, and a technical officer on the team got back to me this morning.
She acknowledged their error in creating a duplicate Case ID, and reassured me that it will not effect the decision or timing of their decision on the proper application(s).
Glad to have that confirmed, now just need to wait for the applications to come through. It's been nearly 4 months, so I'm hopeful to hear back soon.
