Financial requirement for child with ROA

Post by Chuju » Wed Jan 24, 2018 6:17 am

I’d really appreciate some help with this question.
I am a British citizen and I am making an application for a settlement visa for my wife who is a Chinese citizen. We are using cash savings to satisfy the financial requirement. We have already successfully applied for a COE ROA for our baby daughter who was born in China and has a Chinese passport. We have the basic funds (£62,500) in place to cover my wife’s application. However, we cannot (easily) provide the extra funds required to cover the financial requirement for an extra child.

My question is about the financial requirement for our daughter. In Appendix FM 1.7: Financial Requirement: Calculating the financial requirement, in paragraph 2.8 it says “The financial requirement does not apply to a child who: is a British Citizen: is settled in the UK or who qualifies for indefinite leave to enter.”

Can anyone tell me if either of these definitions applies to my daughter? As my daughter has ROA and this renders her free from immigration controls, does this provide her with an “indefinite leave to enter?” Or, do we still need to find the extra funds to satisfy the financial requirements for an extra child?

Child is automatically a British citizen. Hence, they issued the CoE-RoA.

Therefore, no extra funds required.
