Hi,
I am applying for a Tier-2 General Visa entry clearance and leave to remain , which requires me to achieve English Language Certification to secure 10 points. There are no IELTS exam dates available for more than a month, so I am wondering if there are cases where this requirement is exempted.
I checked the tier-2 visa guide (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 18__2_.pdf) where on page 41, under the section "Previous grants of leave" , rule 164, it states that if the applicant had a HSMP permit ever, should be automatically given 10 points for English Language requirement.
The same is mentioned on Appendix B (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... h-language) section "Met requirement on Previous Grant of Leave".
I lived and worked in UK under Tier-2 general visa between 2005-2008, and also got a HSMP permit valid for 2008-2011. I had to leave UK in 2008 to pursue other opportunities. I have been offered a role in UK now, so I am going through the application process again. Is my understanding correct from the rules book section and appendix above that I would no longer need new English Language certification given my previous HSMP permit.
I am trying to expedite the process, so anything that saves me money or time, will be very very helpful.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
