Ukrainian with Polish Schengen visa

Post by UkyKozak » Tue Jan 30, 2018 10:08 am

Hi,
My partner is in Ukraine and has a Polish Schengen visa which she uses to travel for business purposes (she runs her own business in Ukraine). As the schengen has been issued in Poland, does she always have to pass through Poland and then to another member state or can she go directly to a member state from Ukraine.

ex: Lviv-----Vienne-----Lyon

or does she have to do

lviv-----Warsaw-----Lyon

We have done Amsterdam last week but luckily the transit was via Poland.

Thx

No she doesn't have to enter via Poland but Ukrainian citizen have visa free entry to the schengen area for up to 90 days in a 180 day period anyway if they hold a biometric passport.

Thx mgb,

Yes the biometric passport is what she will be doing at some point, hence why she applied for the schengen visa long before they announced it. Great to hear that she can travel directly to any of the member states just makes it so much easier. Planning on meeting up in France for the 15th...
