Complicated ILR - 10 years Continuous Long Residency application

Post by lavender99 » Mon Feb 05, 2018 10:38 pm

Hello All

i'm new to this board and I hope that you can help me.

I came to the UK in 2008 on a Dependant Diplomatic Visa in May. However, I got my visa in March of that year. I now would like to apply for ILR and wondered if you could tell me what month reference shall I consider in order to apply before 28 days of my 10 year stay.

My second question is:
I was a student on my Diplomatic visa and after I completed my studies, I applied for PSW. This meant I had to let go of my Diplomatic Passport (where I still had the valid visa for 3 more years) and applied for a national (non UK) passport while in the UK. I then went back to my home country (as advised by UKBA) and applied for PSW there. Within 28 days I came back to the UK.

My question is that has my continuity in the UK been broken? Within 28 days of receiving my national passport (non UK) here in the UK, I went back to my home country and then applied for PSW. The length of stay in my home country was also 28 days.

Thanks
