Visitor Visa for Parents

Hi All,

Is marriage certificate mandatory to apply for UK visitor visa for parents?

Mother is dependent on my father, In passport they both have spouse name

Since its more than 35 yrs they are married its difficult to get marriage certificate.

please advice.
