ILR based on domestic violence

Post by Maki4 » Tue Feb 06, 2018 8:49 pm

Hi,

After years of psychological, emotional and financial violence, I would like to make an application to the home office and change my visa from spouse visa. I have been in the UK for over 4 years, but just can't take the abuse any more. I have built my life here and now to watch it all go away it's devastating.
The problem I have got is that I heard that the processing times are 6 months to a year.
I can't do that, as my job involves a lot of traveling, so if i make my application and can't travel i will lose my job.
Feeling really trapped.
Are there any exceptions where the home office would return my passport and the biometric residence permit so I can do my job. I don't mind if they need time to review my case, but i need to be able to travel.
If they don't allow this, is there a way of making the processing time shorter, eg. 3 months?
Thank you
