British citizenship for long absences

Post by FinallyPR » Wed Feb 07, 2018 6:26 pm

Hello members,
I would like to apply for naturalization but just wondering am I eligible in the first place.
Date of arrival in Uk: 05/09/2005
Completed MSc: 10/10/2006
First job at university: Aug 2007 to Aug2008
PhD from Sep 2008 to Jan 2013
First child is British citizen born: Nov 2012
Post doc job from Sep 2013 to July 2016

I have paid all my taxes and pension in UK.

But the two very long absences:

1)Maternity leave from employer: Aug 2014 to Aug 2015

2) resigned job and went to India to look after my child born in India as she was refused visa to UK.

Last thing is I have a personal loan and does it really matter.

Am I still eligible to apply for naturalization

Appreciate your help and guidance.

Just to confirm. When and on what basis did you get your ILR?

Past or even current employment does not matter for BC.

absences in last 5 years matter

I got it as dependent spouse. By that time we were married for 6 years and had dependent visa for 3 years.
