Applying status for 7 year child born in uk

Post by Nnya » Sat Feb 10, 2018 11:21 pm

I am a Greek national living in UK since 2008. Went to college for a year 2008/2009 and worked for a few months. 2010-2014 unemployed till march 2014 self employed till date. I have a child born in U.K. And want to find out how to apply for him to get a status and what are the requirements perhaps. Am working toward getting a registration certificate this coming April 2018. I have all my HMRC up to date. My partner is not settled at the moment and is non EU. Any advise will be most welcome. T I A..

Your son may be able to register as a British Citizen or at the very least be able to secure a Right of Permanent residence, on the basis of being a child of an EEA national.

What is the status of the mother?

Thank you for the suggestion and will look into that.

Ok, thought I need to exercise treaty rights continuously for 5 years before applying for child and also saw somewhere unless I was settled before having my child then I can't apply or register him as British citizen till I have permanent residence. My partner is a failed asylum seeker. Hoping to settle child first then deal with partners matter thereafter. We are not married..
