Duration of ban for overstayer who left voluntarily

Post by gre.bm691 » Sat Feb 10, 2018 11:53 pm

Dear all
Posting this on behalf of a friend who had been an overstayer in UK. Back in 2008, he decided to leave the UK voluntarily via IOM agency. His air tickets were paid for by the organization.

It's been more than 10yrs now and he wants to know if he is under any ban restricting him from applying for UK visa.

My understanding is that the duration of ban in such cases is of 5yrs. True?

True (320(7B)). If 10 years have passed, then 5 years has certainly passed too.

But be aware that there's no time limit for a refusal under 320(11).
