ILR

Post by sholaika » Tue Feb 20, 2018 9:42 pm

Hi, Can I travel to Spain without a visa. I am Malawian married to a british citizen and have been granted indefinite leave to remain. I will be travelling with my wife and children. We've been before but not since I was granted ILR.

Thanks

You will have to apply for a Spanish Schengen visa until you have been granted British citizenship
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

ILR is issued by the UK government and allows non-EU citizens to live permanently here and therefore is only recognised by the UK.
For Spain as advised, you need to apply for Schengen visa (partner of an EU citizen)
