Absence letter from previous employer

Post by cracker1234 » Fri Feb 23, 2018 11:25 am

Hi All, Is it mandatory to submit an absence letter from each employer if we had not taken leave or not absent during our tenure with previous employers ? TIA

You would only need it if you had taken leave from previous employers, if you hadn't I don't think they can give you something to confirm absences when you haven't been absent.

Why don't you do a SAR and request this information from them, provided they still have data/information on you. I believe financial data help about employees are kept for three years whilst other data such as personal may be only kept for as long as it is relatively required for.
These are my 'views' and 'opinions'.
If in doubt always seek professional advice, or at least do a search for the relevant information. :P

If i make any mistakes, You are more than welcome to correct me.

Thanks CMOSUK.
Sorry for confusion - You mean SAR ( not sure about the acronym, Service request may be) to previous employers or HO ?
I remember that I was not absent during my tenure with my previous employer as was there around a year.
So, I assume no need to ask for absence letter from them.. Please clarify if I am assuming wrong.. TIA.

Sorry I should have explained further it is a subject access request under the data protection act 1998,

SAR

Again if you haven't been absent during your tenure of employment is there really anything you can provide for it?

I would ask them specifically that question if here have been any absences that way they can confirm in writing to you.
