Delay in dependents visa

Dear Friends

I have received my UK tier 4 visa. I applied from Pakistan and got my decision in week time. I will be studying PhD Economics in London. My wife and daughter also applied as dependents but their passports have not arrived. While we applied together is it normal for passports to come back separately and is it something necessarily bad for visa prospects. What could possibly be the reason. As I understand we fulfil all financial requirements. I wonder if you anyone could advise me about it.
