Hi Ive just managed to lose my BRP (settlement based indefinite leave to remain exp 2024).
The human resources department wont accept anything but the original to confirm and with the job starting in just over 2 weeks I have a serious problem to deal with as i don't think i can get a replacement in that time frame. My passport (Canadian) has also vaporized (gone missing) and because the BRP was issued more than 2 years ago my passport has to be provided with my BRP application in order for it to be processed.
Has anyone heard of anyone receiving a temporary document from the home office giving them the same allowances as an unexpired lost BRP so that they were able to start work with a company temporarily until a new BRP was issued. I do have high quality copies of my BRP but the company wants to see the originals. The BRP has been cancelled anyways so not sure if that option would be viable anyways.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as i don't want to lose the opportunity to work with this company as it will be financially disastrous for me moving forward. Jobs are hard enough to find in Cornwall in the winter to start with and now this has come along after months of looking and i may have to tell them to look for someone else.
Thanks anyone
