Switching to Spouse visa

Post by Samir345 » Wed Feb 28, 2018 12:58 pm

Hi I got married this week and I have Turkish work visa which valued until July 2018 but I would like to know if I can switch to spouse visa now or I have to wait till July?

In gov.uk website it’s saying that you can only apply when you have 28 days left in your current visa I’m not sure if I missunderstood or what.

Can any please help thanks!

Congratulations!

A misunderstanding. The 28 day rule applies to an extension under the same visa category. You can submit a FLR(M) visa application as soon as you are sure you are able to meet all the requirements; £18,600 p.a minimum income, A1 level English (or a degree taught in English), accommodation, proof of a genuine relationship etc.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
