Driving Offences, National Identity Card, "Doctor" Title

Post by lomo » Sat Mar 03, 2018 10:45 am

Hi,

I am switching to Tier 2 General from Tier 4, and I have few questions I need advice on,

1. Should Parking Charge Notifications (not Penalty Charge Notifications) issued by a private company (residential, super market) be declared in the application as a Driving Offence (or under any category as a civil or a criminal offence)?

To my understanding this is a contractual violation between two private parties, and the issue is resolved when the parking charge is paid, and does not count as a Penalty Charge Notification (PCN), which are normally issued by the council or the police for parking in public spaces.

2. I have been asked to give the details of the National Identity Card of my country in the online application. At the end of online application, National Identity Card has not been requested as a Mandatory document to be sent to UKVI. So Do I need to send it?

3. I have been awarded a PhD, so I can use the title doctor now. Should I use Doctor or Mr, in the online application. My passport does not contain an entry for the title, so I am not sure what to use.

Any advice is much appreciated.

1. A Parking Charge Notice is nothing but an invoice. Parking companies usually mark them, rather deceptively in my opinion, with "PCN" in big letters to confuse and scare you. No need to mention those.

2. No harm in sending it. I would if it was asked for at any stage in the application.

3. Not sure about his one but I believe it should be ok to use "Doctor".

Thank you for your comment. I think I will need to translate the national National Identity Card, is a translation done by a translation company in UK accepted by UKVI? do they need specific qualifications to be an UKVI accepted translator?
