Chances are she'll be denied.

gollywood why do you think this way what if they dont overstay. I would not advise someone to overstay as i have done so in the past and it affected me in different ways. but for you to always give negative reply to most of the questions asked on this bored makes you sound like SYH. i know many have critisised Wanderer in this same way but Wanderer tend to address the issues raised by being 100% honest (LOL) and dont just fire blanks

Thanks (I think!) - I don't sugar-coat things, I quantify most things I say with 'i think' or 'IMHO' but most of all I learn a lot about immigration and a lot more about people.....

shetalpatel, If you/your in laws have all sufficient documents to prove that certainly go back then I do not see why not. Previous your mothers overstay got nothing to do with your in laws application. It is considered on individual merit not on who sponsors them. They are different application even though they got the same sponsor. Therefore if you are eligible then you can sponsor them.

Why?

I am the child of immigrants.

I am also the victim of those that have overstayed and caused my 100% legal/genuine visa applications to be rejected because we are lumped in with those out to scam.

Sure, I 'shoot' - but I dont abuse or insult, resort foul/abusive language or any 'dearly beloved' jibes etc.

If you want to bring my posting history into it, then also refer to the posts where I try to offer as much advise to individuals - to help them get through appeal hearings etc.

But I'll say my piece when someone is clearly looking to abuse the system.

In this thread, the guy is openly saying that his parent overstayed and is still here, and now he wants to bring his inlaws in (i can infer the rest) - why not resolve the overstaying issue 1st????

Dont compare me to other posters whom I know nothing of!

I suppose we all are guilty of pre-supposed reading-between-the-lines, when I hear 'lost my passport' I think 'trying some dodgy plan' - when I should cos I did lose my passport....

And the perennial students; I always jump at those I suspect of using the 10 year rule by enrolling on every dodgy course in the dfes register to rack up the years. Completely forgetting some may well have been students here since 11 yo.....

That's why I'm not a lawyer, cos I prejudge, it's a failing and I;m sorry for it but it's me and i'm not willing to change cos I'm here for free for what it's worth.

If you want a nice man to lie to you and take your money get a lawyer. That's not all of them of course but I am predisposed to compartmentalising.

Thank you very much for your reply,
I was also feeling same. but since oct'07 Uk has introduced new application form of Visitor visa vaf-1. on that colum 6.5.5 (family visitor section) has to answer that if your sponsor has sponsored any visitor during last 2 year if so then list the name of the person who has been sponsored during last 2 years.. in that case please suggest me what i have to do? can i ask to applicatnt to leave blank saying not applicable or i can allow him to write down sposored name believeing vfs will not check of the first sponsored came back...
Please reply... greatful to you..

The question is there for a reason! The very reason you are now looking to avoid it! Ofcourse the appellant will have to answer truthfully. They otherwise run the risk of the visa being refused outright, should the info supplied be checked out. Why not sort out the overstayer first, before you bring along someone else?

And I get abuse for making the same point :)

The guy is basically saying ' I have scammed the system - how can I scam it again' - and is looking for justification from this forum to perpetrate a lie!

No. Tell the truth. As some member already said its there for a specific reason.
Just because some one you sponsored overstayed previously it doesn't mean the applicant will overstay as well. Its unjust to punish someone for the crime some else did. And also each applications is dealt by ECO on its individual merits.
