Please help!! About visa

Post by Atmostis » Mon Mar 05, 2018 1:44 pm

I am sorry if I am posting in the wrong topic, I am new to everything.

My fiance currently lives in the USA but wants to live with me permanently in the UK.

But we don't know which visa to apply for or what documents we need to do this :?

Please...can anyone give us help or advice!! I would really appreciate it.

Here is some information about us:
* My fiance works a full time job (30 hours a week)
* I work a part-time job (15 hours a week) but still live with my parents
* We have met 4 times already.

Assuming your intentions are to marry, your fiance will have to apply for a fiance visa which if granted, will require you to marry in the UK within 6 months
and then apply for a FLR(M) spouse visa giving a period of 2.5 year limited leave.

Alternatively, marry in the USA and apply for a Spouse Settlement visa.

However, your fiance's earnings won't be considered. As the sponsor, you have to show that you meet the minimum income level of £18,600 p.a.

The visa fees run into several thousand pounds.

Yes, we wish to get married here...but it's hard with our circumstances. We are young and finding full time jobs are very difficult and I don't come from such a rich background either.

I don't know how they can cost that much? it is ridiculous..Surely there is a way because a lot of people come here with nothing and get into the UK.

Can my parents sponsor him or not? My dad earns way more then anyone else.

Thanks for the advice!

As you've mentioned your father "earns way more than anyone else", perhaps you could ask him to gift you the £62,500 in savings which would enable you to meet the financial requirement without income.

This would need to be held in an accessible account for a minimum of 6 months before applying for the fiance visa. You would also have to show the same level of savings after you are married when you apply for FLR(M).

Oh! And don't forget the visa fees and NHS surcharge, which will amount to well over £2,000. Perhaps he could help with this too.

As I've advised in your other thread (now closed), he will be unable to apply for a fiance visa while in the UK. Neither can he marry on a visitor visa.

How old are you both?
