I am switching to Tier 2 General from Tier 4 DES, and I have few questions I need advice on,
1. I will be applying after the Start date on the CoS, will it be a problem? Should I ask the employer to bring forward the start date?
2. I have completed my PhD which lasted almost over 4 years. The recent Tier 2 policy guidance state, UKVI need confirmation I studied over 12 months. This information is not available in the degree certificate, should I submit a letter instead?
You must provide an original degree certificate, academic transcript or an academic
reference on official headed paper of the institution which must clearly show:
• your name; and
• the course title and award; and
• the course duration (except in the case of a degree certificate); and
• the date you completed the course, having sat all exams and presented all academic
papers, unless you were studying a PhD course where confirmation of 12 months’
study during your last period of leave is required.
3. Policy guidance state, CoS should state job is at RQF level 6. My CoS is for a Job at PhD level, however it does not state this in words, instead the sponsor has ticked "Tick to conform that the post is at the appropriate skill level as set out in the sponsor guidance". Does this satisfy UKVI requirement of section 69 in policy guidance?
Any advice is much appreciated.Applications for entry clearance or switching into Tier 2 (General)
69. If you are applying to work in the UK, the Certificate of Sponsorship must confirm that the
job is at RQF level 6 as stated in the codes of practice
