Spouse Visa of Tier 4 Student - Finance

Post by kitty1486 » Tue Mar 06, 2018 3:14 pm

Hi Everyone,

New to this forum.. so hello to all and thanks much in advance for your help!

I am pursuing PhD in UK and my husband would be applying to join me from India. We are a bit concerned about our finances. I do not have sufficient funds i.e. GBP 6120 (for 9 months maintenance) to support my husband. Can we show our parents fixed deposit certificates as they are willing to support my husband? They are also providing a letter explaining their support for his dependent visa. Parents had previously sponsored my and husbands education and vistor trips to UK.

Since its a dependent visa application, we are not sure if parents can sponsor our maintenance funds. Also we are not sure if cash of GBP 6120 is mandatory or can it be accompanied with fixed deposit certificates.

Thanks heaps for your time and attention to my query. Looking forward to some suggestions!

No. The money he shows must be held in his own name or your name, not in any of your parents' name(s).

Your parents will need to withdraw the money they are giving to your husband, and transfer it to your him, or to you.

Fixed deposits are fine in his name or your name, if they meet the requirements of the Modernised Guidance. See https://www.ukcisa.org.uk/Information-- ... layer-5347
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
