New Zealander in London moving to Ireland

Post by inzid001 » Wed Mar 07, 2018 10:52 am

Hi there. I'm currently a New Zealander living in London on a tier 2 visa until 2020. I have a girlfriend who is Irish and we're thinking of moving over to Ireland roughly July/Auguest 2019.

I was hoping to speak to someone who has moved from visa to visa and ideally moved from the UK to Ireland,

I've lived in the UK since 2015 and been in the relationship since October 2016. We have been living together coming up a year but we have proof of our relationship since late 2016 with receipts going to the address we are now living at so with this in mind I was hoping to apply for a De Facto visa from December this year even though technically we haven't been living together for a year I have proof of a relationship around that point and more solid evidence as time goes on such as photos, receipts, joint bank account etc which ideally will show we have been 'living together for 2 years' even if I still had my other house I was living at and going between the two (hope that makes sense)

Where does this leave me? Is it easy to get a De Facto visa? I know it can take up to 6 months so thats another reason I want to get the ball rolling ASAP for July/August next year. Do I need to apply for this in Ireland and stay in Ireland during the duration?

Just wanting to try get information on this - is there any companies i can pay to do this process for me? or anybody i can phone to have a chat more about this with?

Any advice would be great

Kind regards

Hello Mr new Zealand..honest advice for you that firstly don't go to Ireland for Dr facto visa bcz they will refuse you 1000%. Because you don't have 2 years proof of living together. And Irish immigration officers are not interested for genuine relationship. They don't follow EU directive. Their mindset is to refuse first and rip off life for genuine applicants. But if you go for marriage then it's bit easy for you to get visa if your sponsor full fill all criteria.

Secondly, try to bring her in UK and get married. It will be wisest decision for you. If you get married in UK and she exercise treaty right then 1000% you will get visa after 3 months. And UK is heaven. Other side Ireland is very hard for anything like job, papers etc.....

My opinion don't go to Ireland. If you go there one day you will remember me that someone gave correct information. Anyway best of luck

And they can refuse your first application whatever is strong or weak application. If they refuse then there is no option for fresh application if you think you made mistake. Then you have to go through review which is worse in Ireland at least 1 year they will rip off your private life. After that if you go for court of appeal then it is another 1 year.

So UK is 100000% times better than Ireland . You can get it in UK very easily and UK have European court facility + fresh application oppurtunity etc etc
