can Tier 2 ICT dependent work after main holder moved

Hi guys,

I have a situation here. I am a ICT Tier 2 dependent visa holder (obviously my wife is the main visa holder) and I am also doing a Contract job. The visa is valid till mid of August 2018.

My wife may need to go back permanently to india at any time in the coming 4 months due to different reasons from her employer.

I have to serve notice to my employer at least a month prior otherwise there are some complications here. So, assume if my wife is going back to india by end of April, can I work a month here i.e. till end of May?

My wife says..once she goes back to india, her employer immediately cancels the visa and I should not be in UK even for a day. Is that so? I heard from some of my friends that there is a provision that I can continue to work a month or 2 even if the main holder leaves UK.

I am hoping that I put all my queries properly.

Your visa is tied to your spouse's visa. If her visa is cancelled, your dependent visa automatically loses its validity. Legally, you cannot remain if you wife is moving back permanently.

Any stay beyond cancellation will be at your risk.
