Will husbands visa application be affected if I’m receiving work and child tax credits?

Hello I’m a British citizen and have an 8 yr old daughter from a previous relationship (she is also a British citizen) I currently work and meet the financial requirements as I earn 19,000 a yr without benefits but I am also entitled to work and child tax credits. My husband is in turkey İstanbul and i am applying for a spouse visa for him I come over here but I was confused as someone told me that our application might be denied as I receive child and working tax credits?! I am in dispair as to what to do? Please help

Thank you for your reply... do you know of anyone who has been in this situation before? As I spoke to a solicitor and she wasn’t sure she just told me to be on the safe side and cancel my tax credits which to me didn’t make any sense as I know if I cancel my tax credits I will struggle immensely with bills rent etc...

You are entitled to claim tax credits. Your solicitor should be aware of this if she is qualified to advise on UK Immigration matters.
