Hi all,
I am an EEA national planning to apply for British citizenship.
I have passed the 'life in the UK' test and IELTS and I believe I am ready to submit my application. What worries me though is that the AN Guide says that if i use passport as proof of identity it should be the same used when I took the 'life in the UK' test.
"...
if you used one of these documents when you took the Knowledge of Life in the UK
test you will be expected to use it again by enclosing it with your naturalisation
application
..."
The problem is that when I took the test I used an expired passport which I don't have any more. To be precise I don't have it in its entirety... Two weeks after giving the test, I received the new passport, the expired one was cancelled (stamped cancelled on every page of it). Believing that I will never need it again, I cut out the passport page that contains the picture/name/date of birth, and through the rest. I only have that single page from that passport. The passport had no stamps from my entries to the UK anyway, since being an EEA national means that the passport doesn't need to be stamped.
Is this going to be a problem for my application? Where is the right place to ask? I could ask during my nationality checking service appointment, but I would like to book one only when I am sure I have all the documents needed.
Thanks for any advice.
