Knowledge of life in the UK

Post by Bongo » Mon Mar 12, 2018 7:56 pm

I submitted an application for Indefinite leave to remain for my husband who has lived in the UK since 2012 on a limited leave to remain . We didn't know that he needs to take the life in UK test also in addition to the English language test which he already had when he was granted entry over 5 years ago. We haven't had a decision letter yet from the Home Office. Does anyone know our best option. The thought of paying another £2300 is unbearable. Please any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

If you have applied ILR on SET(M) basis , your application will be unlikely to be approved without providing SELT approved English language B1 test and LIFE in the UK Test. However, UKVI might issue you further Leave to remain instead of ILR in order to give you more time to pass both tests. However your fees will be wasted .

You have little to lose from passing the test and sending to UKVI before they decide your case.

I am curious which form you used LIUK is a clear part in any SET form I would imagine...
