Latent TB question

Post by tihor » Mon Mar 12, 2018 8:34 pm

Hi everyone,

I am in a very strange situation.
I am in the UK on partner visa as a Tier2 General dependant. My partner's job is in trouble. However, I work for a company which is ready to sponsor me the visa. I can go back to my home country to apply for the Tier 2 General visa.
But, I am in a great trouble as below.

1. I have been diagnosed with Latent TB(Not active TB) in the UK for which I am taking treatment. The treatment is for 3 months.
2. Can I go to my home country whilst taking the treatment and apply for the Tier 2 General Visa?
3. How best or worst are the chances of getting the Tier 2 General visa. The reason is I have to mention in the application form that I am taking treatment for Latent TB in the UK as there is a questionnaire in the application form.

Please advise..

Thanks very much.

I am sharing my experience.

My wife had TB positive( Mountex test) while done by Occupational dept for health workers.
initially, they advised taking treatment but later dropped as Indians usually have previous exposure to TB.
This has happened in the UK while she was on a Dependent visa.
After a couple of months, She had an entry clearance for her main Tier 2 visa from India, she took TB Certificate according to visa policy and applied for Visa nothing asked and granted.

Bottom line is x-ray does not show any pieces of evidence of TB unless it is a recent infection or large previous changes( you no need to worry if old ones). As you are already taking treatment chest lesion probably resolved if you had a recent exposure which is unlikely as you are in the UK.

My advice is to take TB certificate from approved diagnostics centre and no need to mention anywhere as you will have TB certificate proof and you will be fine
