change of company name/s

Post by huqqapani » Fri Mar 23, 2018 2:53 pm

Hi
This is on behalf of a friend. He has a tier 2 visa with a company. The company is going through restructuring and is diversifying their businesses which has or will result in a change of name e.g. If it was Sony Plc. originally, under the new setup, it will be called Sony Electricals.
For such changes, how would this impact his Teir 2 visa? The actual job title and role responsibilities will not change he has been told.
He is worried as he only needs the Tier 2 visa until sometime in 2019 by when he will become eligible for ILR under 5 year route.
Please guide on this. Many thanks in advance.

The tier 2 sponsor guidance clearly states what should be done in cases like this. I think you might find an answer to your question here
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 8_v1.0.pdf

read the change of circumstances section and all associated scenarios
